SURVICE is seeking a Web Designer/Developer to develop and maintain WordPress websites in support of the DoD Science and technology community. The Web Designer/Developer will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation of WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integration and security updates. Overall, the web design/developer is responsible for maintaining website functionality and aesthetics to promote maximum DoD user interaction and collaboration. Specific duties and responsibilities of this full-time position include: Writing efficient Python, JavaScript, HTML/XHTML, and/or CSS code Creating websites/a website using standard HTML/CSS practices Meeting with Team members to discuss website design and function. Designing, building, and addressing upgrades to the website front-end. Creating/maintaining the website architecture. Researching different software programs, maintaining software documentation Maintaining and expanding/enhancing the web application/user interface once Gathering information, experience, and lessons-learned to document and increase efficiency of web application/user interface development processes. Education and Experience requirements: BS Computer Science or equivalent field. Entry level 1 to 2 years experience. Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer. Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery. Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics. Experience with MySQL database development and integration. Ability to project manage. Good communication skills. Experience with Azure FedRAMP cloud environments and/or ForgeRock, Version 6.5 is a plus. Clearance requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance required.
