Job Title: Enterprise Exam Development Manager

Job Description

The Enterprise Exam Development Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing an exam development program focused on delivering high-quality assessments tailored to enterprise customers. This role will involve defining exam development processes, coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring industry compliance, and optimizing assessment methodologies to meet enterprise workforce needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in exam development, psychometrics, and enterprise learning solutions, with a strong ability to collaborate across teams to create scalable assessment products.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership:

  • Establish workflows, tools, and best practices for exam development and validation.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, including product management, enterprise sales, and learning content teams.
  • Exam Design & Development:
  • Define frameworks for competency-based assessments, certification exams, and skill validation tests.
  • Work closely with SMEs to develop exam content aligned with industry standards and customer needs.
  • Implement psychometric best practices to ensure validity, reliability, and fairness in assessments.
  • Oversee item writing, test assembly, and scoring methodologies.
  • Enterprise Customer Engagement:
  • Collaborate with enterprise customers to understand their assessment needs and tailor exam solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure assessments align with corporate learning and development (L&D) strategies, compliance requirements, and industry certifications.
  • Act as a strategic consultant for customers on best practices for enterprise skill assessment and credentialing.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Ensure all exams comply with relevant accreditation, industry, and legal standards.
  • Work with psychometricians to analyze exam performance and continuously improve test quality.
  • Technology & Scalability:
  • Identify and implement technology solutions to streamline exam development and delivery.
  • Collaborate with platform and product teams to integrate assessments into enterprise learning ecosystems.
  • Explore AI-driven assessment tools to enhance scalability and adaptability.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in exam development, certification programs, or assessment solutions.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers on training and workforce upskilling initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of exam security protocols, accreditation standards, and psychometric principles.
  • Familiarity with assessment platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and AI-based testing solutions.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of AI-driven assessments and adaptive testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a complex, matrixed organization.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $90,000 - $95,000.
