Job Title: Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 Reports To: Associate Provost, Institutional Research & Effectiveness Location: Houston, TX Institution: University of Houston Position Overview The Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment & Accreditation is a leadership position in the office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness reporting directly to the Associate Provost. The Executive Director serves as the university's principal officer with respect to managing the institutional effectiveness, assessment and accreditation processes and other activities through which student learning outcomes are evaluated. Key Responsibilities Manage the university's SACSCOC accreditation process. Maintain current knowledge of laws, policies, and requirements related to institutional assessment and accreditation, particularly SACS accreditation and substantive change standards. Manage the completion of all SACSCOC-related reports including substantive change, Fifth-year Interim reports, and decennial reports. Maintain an archive of all SACSCOC related documents and correspondence. Oversee the general education assessment through which learning outcomes for students completing their baccalaureate degrees are evaluated on an annual basis. Manage the annual implementation of the core curriculum assessment plan in accordance with state law and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board policy. Serve as the chair of the campus Assessment committee building a culture of assessment on the campus. Develop, manage, analyze and report University-wide assessment surveys. Manage the institutional effectiveness planning process through which student learning outcomes are measured on an annual basis for each degree program at the university. Provide guidance to faculty and staff in the development and implementation of assessment strategies and techniques and the use of assessment results for improvement. Collaborate with Colleges and Departments providing support for discipline-specific accreditation. Represent the university at conferences, accreditation visits, state committees, etc., in matters related to assessment. Serve as a liaison to the Undergraduate Committee of the Faculty Senate, through which changes to the core curriculum must be approved. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Education: Doctoral degree in a related field. Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
