Job Description

This position is expected to know all aspects of loading rail cars and trucks and understand, and trouble shoot JWS with little to no supervision. Responsibilities include maintaining a smooth and efficient flow of truck and rail traffic, inspecting truck trailers and railcars prior to loading to ensure they are free from contaminants, ensuring different product types are distributed into the appropriate trucks/rail cars and the proper weight is loaded for each shipment, and being familiar with different silo product types. The role requires completing bill of lading for truck and rail shipments, inventory control with accurate silo inventory measurements, participation in company-sponsored training and certification programs, training of new employees on equipment related to load out area, cross training in other areas as needed, troubleshooting and maintaining variable speed drives, keeping rail and truck scales clean, maintaining a water free environment from rail pit and scales, making minor adjustments to load-out related equipment, completing daily equipment check reports, assisting daily in plant cleanup of production areas, and adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. The candidate must be able to operate heavy equipment safely, ensure compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and regulatory compliance with Federal FDA Food Modernization Safety Act, support Environmental Health and Safety as well as SQF initiatives, participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance, and perform any other assigned tasks including assisting the Shipping Coordinator as needed. Attributes required include an industrial background with good troubleshooting skills, knowledge of current environmental regulations related to the lime industry, ability to perform basic mathematical computations, flexibility to work shift work seven days a week including holidays, ability to tolerate severe weather conditions and exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust, and physical ability to access all areas within a site including heights, confined spaces, and lifting over 50 pounds. Education required is a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of experience as a Bulk Loader or in a related industrial or manufacturing position.
