Overview A lovely family of 4 is seeking a full-time, live-out private chef in Manhattan, NY to cook lunch and dinner, as well as prep snacks and stock breakfast staples. The children are both in elementary school, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable around, and enjoy children. The family eats a mainly vegan diet, with one family member eating seafood and meat, the chef will need to have experience cooking both vegan and non-vegan meals, as well as child friendly meals, in a variety of different cuisines. The general schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am-7pm, with seated family-style meals. The family has a relaxed but refined home, and are looking to hire as soon as they find the right candidate. They are currently only looking at candidates local to NYC or easy commutable distance. Responsibilities Collaborate with the family, and create meal and menu planning of various cuisines Maintain recipes, electronic and hard file Create profiles for the family, the children, and guests on their likes, dislikes, allergies, etc, and maintain those files for when the family entertains Preparation of lunches, dinner and snacks daily, with some staples to be left in the fridge and pantry Involve the children when possible and create fun and creative meals to expand their tastes Create fun holiday themed meals and baked good for the children: Hallwoeen cookies, hot cocoa in winter, etc Grocery shopping and ordering Sourcing fresh ingredients Inventory management of pantry items and monitoring of expiration dates Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen. Clean as you go mentality Open to travel with the family to their other residences out of state if needed; this would be for special events/occasions only Qualifications Excellent time management Personable and friendly, but knows how to read a room Professional, trustworthy, and reliable Enjoy working in an active household with children Resourceful and intuitive Communicative Warm, understands private homes Requirements Prior experience working in a private home Experience making vegan dishes, and non-vegan Can take charge of the kitchen Organized Able to travel if needed for special occasions and events Legal to work in the US Salary and Benefits $125k salary Standard benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr British American Household Staffing
