Luau is Roblox’s open-source evolution of the Luau scripting language. Roblox’s Luau App Foundations and Developer Efficiency teams define the Luau architecture and tooling used by every Luau engineer at Roblox. Leading Efficiency for these teams, you’ll be directly responsible for our Luau developer efficiency and Luau codebase performance.

You will report to the Director of Product for Consumer Frontend & Lua Engineering Efficiency. This role is based at HQ (no remote option open).

Job Responsibilities

• Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Luau App Foundations and Luau Developer Efficiency teams.
• Nurture a strong internal and external community of Luau engineers such that their feedback informs your roadmap and project prioritization process.
• Collaborate with customers across the company to provide your teams with insights so that Luau app architecture can stay ahead of customer needs.
• Project manage complex, cross-company programs that drive the adoption of new technologies developed by your teams.
• Effectively communicate product updates, achievements, and priorities to collaborators across the organization.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and other collaborators to prioritize features and drive product development from concept to launch.
• Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies in gaming architecture and developer efficiency to inform product priorities.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of Product Management experience with expertise in shipping high-quality technical or consumer products across multiple platforms.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and efficiency collaborating closely with engineers.
• Experience defining, managing or driving adoption of internal capabilities or platforms.
• Skilled in navigating platform product development, with extensive experience in collaborating with internal team members.
• A deep understanding of game architecture or write once, run everywhere, multi-platform delivery would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
• The ability to clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels.
• Successfully brought together diverse teams, fostering teamwork to achieve challenging objectives, align products with customer needs, and test ideas quickly for impact in consumer technology.
• Experience leading cross-functional execution with various teams including engineering, data science, design, marketing, partnerships, legal, and policy, to conceptualize, develop, test, and launch impactful communication tools tailored to user needs and preferences.

Onsite Work Policy

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range: $275,030 — $324,450 USD
