Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain employee schedules based on organizational needs.
Ensure adequate shift coverage to avoid understaffing or overstaffing.
Manage shift swaps, time-off requests, and replacements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
Track attendance, certifications, licenses (especially in healthcare), and work hours.
Use HRIS or scheduling software to manage data.
Ensure staffing practices comply with labor laws, union agreements, and internal policies.
Monitor overtime, rest periods, and other regulatory requirements.
Handle last-minute staffing issues or call-offs.
Resolve conflicts related to scheduling or availability.
Generate reports on staffing metrics (e.g., coverage gaps, overtime, turnover).
Provide data to HR or operations leadership for decision-making.
Knowledge of scheduling systems like Kronos, Smartlinx, or ShiftWizard.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Understanding of nursing roles and healthcare workflows.
