Overview The CommonSpirit Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist is a registered nurse with advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in neonatal intensive care nursing. The Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist assesses the needs of patients and family units within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and assists in the planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care. The specialist is an expert practitioner whose goal is to realize optimum quality nursing practice through direct patient care, clinical staff development, consultation, and research. All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in the NICU and oversee nursing practice to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care. Assess needs of patients and families; participate in planning, execution, and evaluation of nursing care. Engage in clinical staff development, consultation, and research to improve nursing practice. Align duties with the vision and values of the organization. Job Requirements Two (2) years of successful experience in neonatal intensive care nursing; theoretical and practical expertise in nursing education Master’s Degree - Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Where You'll Work CommonSpirit Health was formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health.
