Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking an entry-level Engineer to join our Gas sector. This role will contribute to gas utility projects that improve safety and ensure the reliability of gas pipeline infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the pipeline integrity projects, contributing to the success of pipeline projects that meet PHMSA 49 CFR 192 regulations. You will support our efforts to provide clean, safe and reliable energy as well as ensure public safety with new advancements in technologies.

Responsibilities

Engineering Design and Analysis:

  • Assist in the development and preparation of engineering designs, plans, and specifications for utility pipeline projects, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, analyses, and simulations to assess the performance, integrity, and feasibility of pipeline systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.

Project Coordination and Management:

  • Support project managers in coordinating project activities, resources, and schedules to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules, and monitor project progress and performance against established targets.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and presentations to communicate engineering requirements, progress, and findings to project stakeholders.

Technical Documentation and Reporting:

  • Generate engineering calculations, analyses, and design documents to demonstrate compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, drawings, and documentation to support project design, construction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation to ensure quality and integrity of project deliverables.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and audits to identify and address potential issues, errors, and discrepancies in engineering designs and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in the design, construction, and operation of utility pipeline systems.
  • Implement corrective actions and revisions as needed to address identified issues and ensure the integrity and safety of project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering required
  • 6 months to 2 years of work experience or internship experience in engineering required; Oil and Gas utility pipeline experience preferred
  • Understanding of pipeline engineering principles, calculations, analysis and problem-solving skills highly preferred
  • Knowledge of utility pipeline systems, materials, construction methods, and applicable regulations is preferred
  • Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information System) software preferred
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Highly organized and efficient in querying and gathering data to compile presentations, forms, and reports
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently, as part of a team and effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

Work Location: Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the Los Angeles, CA office with travel to project sites 1 day per week

Travel: Up to 10% travel to project sites within the Southern California region

Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
