Nurse Practitioner – Spanish and English Speaking
Hyattsville , MD

MUST:
Experienced Nurse Practitioner

Must be able to speak Spanish and English (experience translating for Spanish speaking patients)
Must be Licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Maryland
Must have a current DEA licensure
Experience in a Family/Internal/Primary Care setting preferred

DUTIES:
Obtain health history and perform physical examinations
Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment
Prescribe medication in accordance with Virginia statute and professional practice guidelines
Perform minor surgical procedures
Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered here
Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow up in a timely manner
Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, clinical quality meetings, provider roundtables and other clinical meetings
Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice, as requested
Attend grand rounds weekly
Participate in clinical quality initiatives to improve the health outcomes of patients
Practice using evidence based guidelines for patient care
Participate in use of data management to proactively remind patients/families of needed services for chronic care, preventative care and medication management
Include the patient in the management of their care using self-management goals, tools and support
Stay current on evidence-based guidelines published by the AAP and implement any changes found
