Posted 02/05/2025 Expires 03/22/2025 Description JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and coordinate the music, conduct the adult choir for the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, as well as a few other special liturgies and events throughout the year, and develop the children/family choir. Rehearse with the Adult choir on an evening leading up to the Sunday Mass. Prepare weekly music schedule and provide music for the accompanist. Select liturgical music based on the seasons and readings of the day that will engage congregational singing. Form and instruct the section leaders and the choir on Catholic liturgy and music (if they are not already formed and instructed). Rehearse with soloists if they are needed. Ensure that accompanists are properly logging in their work hours and in a timely manner. Verify and approve their manual timecards. Be in compliance with music copyright laws and music licenses for choir music projected on printed worship aids. Follow copyright laws regarding reproducing and copying sheet music. Coordinate with the Audio-Visual team. Maintain current parish choir roster and email announcements to the choir and other parish staff as needed. Work with the business manager and pastor regarding the budget for the choir. Any choir activities outside of the 10:00 a.m. mass and rehearsal for the Mass must be pre-approved by the pastor in a timely manner. Ability and desire to work collaboratively with clergy, parish staff, and members of music ministry. The pastor reserves the right to adjust job duties as he sees fit. Attend all staff meetings and events. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: Music degree desired (Choral conducting degree preferred). Proficient in both traditional and contemporary styles of liturgical music. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
