Mobile Engineer II - Android

Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. We’re seeking an experienced and driven Mobile Engineer to help develop the next generation of trip insurance module and UI platform. In this role, you’ll contribute to building cutting-edge applications and APIs that elevate user experience across our mobile ecosystem.

In this role you will:

  • Architect and develop core features for our Android apps, delivering reliable, scalable solutions

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners—including product, design, and platform engineering—to craft seamless, intuitive interfaces

  • Help shape the technical direction of mobile chat and checkout functionalities through key architectural input

  • Proactively address app performance issues and crashes, using telemetry and data insights to raise product quality

  • Promote and implement Android development best practices—clean architecture, testing, accessibility, and performance optimization

  • Continuously drive improvements to create fast, responsive, and delightful mobile experiences

Experience and qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in building and releasing Android applications at scale

  • End-to-end ownership of mobile features, from conception to deployment and iteration

  • Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns and UI frameworks

  • Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous messaging tools (e.g., web sockets, chat UIs)

  • Commitment to accessible and user-friendly design

  • Strong communicator and team collaborator with a proactive approach to shared technical decisions

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
