As a Behavioral Health Support Staff member, your day-to-day will center around patient care and maintaining a safe environment on our units. You’ll spend most of your shift on your feet—interacting with patients, observing behaviors, reporting to clinical staff, and helping ensure the unit runs smoothly. Some tasks are routine, but others will require quick thinking, strong boundaries, and compassionate communication. Responsibilities Interact with patients and observe behaviors. Report to clinical staff and ensure the unit runs smoothly. Support patients using structured programming like 'Theme of the Day' activities. Enforce unit rules in a firm but respectful way. Build rapport while maintaining boundaries. Assist with charting and triaging patients. Essential Skills Supervisory skills Office administration Charting Healthcare experience Ability to maintain a strong mentality when working with patients in challenging moods Medical knowledge Familiarity with medical terminology Utilization management Interpersonal skills Additional Skills & Qualifications CMA CNA BLS certification Work Environment You will be working in a mental health hospital assisting with charting and triaging patients. Shifts available include 3pm-11:30pm, 7pm-7:30am, and 11pm-7:30am. You will work alongside MDs, RNs, and other professionals, gaining exposure to extensive training and knowledge. The position offers extensive benefits and the opportunity to work with patients of all ages. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
