Mechanical Engineer Job Summary:

• The successful engineer should be self motivated, able to work independently, of high character and hard working.
• The engineer should have a strong background and understanding of engineering fundamentals, such as statics, mechanics of materials and machine design.
• Course work or experience in FEA, composite materials is a plus.
• The mechanical engineer will be required to perform engineering calculations, prepare engineering estimates and quotations, technical specifications and technical reports.
• Pipe stress analysis is a typical task of our engineers.
• The engineer will have some design/drafting responsibilities developing models and drawings for equipment using a 3-D modeling and drafting software.
• As we have a materials testing laboratory, the ME will be engaged in material testing and failure investigation activities occasionally.
• This position will develop into a comprehensive project engineering responsibility.

Requirements:

• BS or MS graduate from an ABET accredited engineering program from a (4) year university.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
• No experience required.
• Familiar with working in a 3D environment
• Strong fundamental analytically skills are necessary.
• Curriculum focus on materials or applied mechanics, desirable.
• Must be proficient with the computer, office software and CAD tools.
• Experience with Solidedge or Solidworks 3D CAD software is desired.
• Experience in developing 3D components and part assemblies in a modeling environment to be used for creating detailed models and fabrication drawings desirable.
• As we are a small engineering company a professional attitude and commitment to excellence is required.
• Must be willing to take on multiple responsibilities, take on greater challenges and to continue professional growth and to advance engineering skills.
• Applicant must be energetic, positive and assertive.
• Limited short term travel to collect technical data from plant sites is required as projects demand.

Our company has approximately 14 employees across four separate business divisions. Maverick was founded in 1999 and has continue to grow and expand its presence over the last 23 years. To meet these challenges, we are developing this new position to elevate the focus on administration and synergies between business divisions.
