Job Description

The Albany FireWolves are a proud member of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), playing out of MVP Arena in Albany, NY. This professional box lacrosse team offers opportunities to current college-level students looking to gain real-world marketing experience, understand the intricacies of event promotion, and position themselves for a successful career upon graduation. Our emphasis is to provide practical experience, significant challenges, varying daily operational requirements, and hands-on opportunities for creativity, resourcefulness, and excellence. This internship is available for full- or part-time candidates, eligible to work for college credit for the summer internship season. The Albany FireWolves are currently seeking motivated individuals for our Summer 2025 Marketing and Engagement Internship Program. The ideal candidate for this internship is organized, creative, capable of proactive problem solving, and a critical thinker. A qualified candidate should be able to work independently and within a team, handle multiple projects and tasks, and achieve objectives set forth by their supervisor and themselves. Candidates selected for a role within the organization will be given the opportunity to have a hand in multiple aspects of building the Albany FireWolves brand and must be reliable for assisting the marketing team over the course of the summer. Job Responsibilities: Assist with brainstorming creative ideas for promotional videos and campaigns Help plan and coordinate marketing efforts related to events, ticket sales, and general brand promotion Support the development and distribution of marketing materials to local businesses, event locations, and key spots in the community Conduct research to help identify local trends, audience interests, and new promotional opportunities Help organize and track marketing inventory, printed materials, and promotional supplies Participate in grassroots marketing efforts such as flyer drops, street team activations, and giveaway distribution Document and report on the impact of in-person marketing efforts by gathering feedback and photos of displays or activations Assist with sponsorship fulfillment by assembling and delivering signage, banners, and materials for partner activations Represent the FireWolves at community events, setting up displays, engaging with attendees, and distributing promotional materials Prepare and organize event supplies, including banners, flyers, handouts, giveaways, and branded signage Share key information with event attendees, including ticket promotions, upcoming games, theme nights, and youth programs Track attendance, engagement, and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of each event Maintain an organized inventory of event supplies and assist with restocking as needed Other Duties as Assigned Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field Present yourself in a professional manner in both appearance and behavior Have a positive attitude and be proactive in identifying operational challenges Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary Passion for sports and a desire to learn about the sports industry Basic knowledge of graphic design software and video production is a plus Benefits: Hands-on experience with a professional sports team Opportunities to build and enhance a diverse portfolio of work Albany FireWolves team merchandise Networking opportunities with industry professionals.
