Job Description

A rapidly growing and innovative horticultural operation is seeking a Head Grower to lead and manage its state-of-the-art greenhouse facility. Key Responsibilities

Greenhouse & Crop Management

  • Oversee daily greenhouse operations, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
  • Manage advanced climate control systems, including heating, cooling, dehumidification, and humidification technologies to ensure optimal growing conditions and production.
  • Establish and refine crop production schedules to meet demand efficiently.
  • Monitor plant health, diagnose issues, and implement solutions for consistent high-quality

Leadership & Team Development

  • Hire, train, and manage a growing team of greenhouse staff.
  • Work closely with ownership and leadership to develop and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to guide operational expansion and improve processes.

Process Optimization & Expansion

  • Implement data-driven growing strategies to improve yield, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Contribute to scaling the greenhouse footprint as production expands.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies to enhance operational performance.

Collaboration & Business Integration

  • Work alongside ownership to support the company’s long-term growth vision.
  • Communicate with vendors and industry professionals to stay ahead of growing trends and best practices.
  • Assist with logistics related to inventory management, procurement, and shipping as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in greenhouse growing, horticulture, or foliage plant production.
  • Strong background in climate-controlled growing and environmental management.
  • Hands-on leadership experience, capable of managing daily operations and scaling production.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take ownership of operations in a rapidly expanding business.
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills to support a high-growth business model.
  • Willingness to relocate if not currently local.
