Forensic Investigator job at Crime Scene Resources, Inc. Houston, TX. Duties and Requirements Duties Respond to death scenes to document, recover, and identify human remains, and collect and preserve physical and biological evidence. Direct decedent transport staff in handling decedents, property, and evidence at scenes. Locate and notify family of death, respond to inquiries, and ensure proper information transfer between shifts and teams. Prepare and submit reports covering operations and jurisdictions. Supervise the admission and release of bodies, ensuring procedural compliance and evidence integrity. Supervise decedent transport staff both at scenes and in the office. Coordinate with Forensic Transporters for scene response and decedent recovery. Testify in court regarding investigation procedures and findings. Notify supervisors of any issues or special interests. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements A copy of transcripts may be required at interview; an official original is required prior to job offer. Position conditional upon passing a criminal background check and drug screening. Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Anthropology, Biological Sciences, or related field. Valid driver's license required within two weeks of employment (Texas). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of crime scene investigation, photography, fingerprints, and human anatomy. Good communication skills. Organizational and time management skills. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office). Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. Physical ability to manipulate bodies, climb stairs, and spend time on feet. Preferences Graduate degrees in related fields. Experience in a medical examiner's office or with human remains. Current ABMDI certification. General Information Location: Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, Houston, TX. Work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, odors, and possibly blood-borne pathogens.
