Description Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in new construction, siding, roofs, shingles, gutter installation, and maintenance of existing builds/ clients grounds by performing the following duties.
Supervisory Responsibilities: - No direct reports, but indirectly oversees subcontractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Inspects work areas to determine the type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
- Directs workers in projects such as installing, repairing, and removing siding and shingles, and metal roofs.
- Maintains project/job-specific scheduling.
- Coordinates roofing materials drop-offs/ pickups.
- Sources and recruits labor Crews.
- Verifies material orders (accuracy/amounts).
- Communicates changes to field projects to Scheduling Dept. As needed.
- Performs pre-and post-inspections.
- Interprets and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of work.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Performs activities of crew workers supervised as needed.
- Review and approve all subcontractor invoices.
- Request and obtain VPOs.
- Travels to other markets/ job locations as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Thorough understanding of the home building process, specifically siding.
- Thorough understanding of construction industry safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry required.
- 2+ years of roofing experience is preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is a plus and preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift up to 50-85 pounds at times.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and traverse roof at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of a construction site in various types of weather.
