The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (NDBP) invite applications for the position of Division Director. Applicants who are Board certified in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) or Neurodevelopmental Disability (NDD) at the rank of Associate or Full Professor are encouraged to apply. This position may be tenure-eligible depending on the candidate's credentials. The Division Director will be responsible for creating and implementing the vision and strategic goals for NDBP, aligning with the broader plans of the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children's. Key responsibilities include leading faculty across clinical and academic missions, overseeing clinical services, education, research development, and administrative activities. The role involves managing a team of faculty and advanced practice providers, fostering a culture of inquiry, and supporting professional growth and research activities. Academic duties encompass overseeing faculty development, maintaining high-quality training programs including the longstanding DBP fellowship, and promoting scholarly excellence. Administrative duties focus on clinical practice quality and positive patient outcomes. The division collaborates with the School of Education on autism assessment programs and provides leadership for the Blue Ridge LEND. Applicants with an active research program and strong leadership experience in motor, cognitive, and at-risk disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, are preferred. The division actively participates in interdisciplinary training and receives significant funding to support mental health and autism assessment initiatives. Community outreach, bilingual capacity, and collaborative partnerships are integral to the division’s mission. The division is expanding with a new Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health Clinic opening in December 2024, located in Riverside, alongside other health services.
