Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus. This role serves as a strategic partner to leadership, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable practices that safeguard institutional integrity and support mission-driven educational delivery. What You'll Do: Develop and Execute Regulatory Strategies : Lead the development and implementation of regulatory strategies to support regulatory approvals, regulatory compliance, and institutional accreditation. Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Monitor, interpret, and apply federal, state, and accreditation requirements, ensuring institutional policies and practices remain compliant with evolving regulations. Manage Regulatory Submissions and Reporting : Facilitate reporting of the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, surveys, and reports to external agencies and accrediting bodies. Maintain Compliance Documentation : Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of regulatory records, databases, and documentation to support audits and institutional reporting. Review Institutional Communications : Evaluate and approve marketing, advertising, and promotional materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and institutional standards. Design and Oversee Compliance Programs : Develop and manage institution-wide compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with legal and accreditation standards. Conduct Risk Assessments and Investigations : Identify and assess compliance risks, investigate potential violations, and implement corrective actions to mitigate future issues. Train and Support Institutional Stakeholders : Provide training, resources, and consultative support to faculty, staff, and leadership on compliance and regulatory topics. Advise Leadership on Compliance Matters : Collaborate with senior leaders to assess compliance risks and provide strategic guidance on regulatory impacts to institutional operations. Desire for growth and professional development. Required Skills/Experience: Associate's degree. Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in regulatory affairs and compliance. Proven experience managing regulatory submissions and compliance programs. Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English. Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment. Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree. Ability to interpret complex regulations. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. High attention to detail and analytical thinking. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams. Compliance: Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures. Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department. Work Environment/Physical Demands: This is a full-time remote position, with occasional onsite travel required. Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection. May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
