Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY :

• Trean was founded in 1996 and is a full-service insurance management company based in Wayzata, MN. As a Business Analyst Intern you will be part of Trean's Project Management Office consisting of PM, BA and QA team members. You will gain valuable experience contributing to the success of the business through process improvements and technology solutions. Your role includes documenting business requirements, creating process map visuals, participating in system testing and change management plans. You will have opportunities to work with various levels and teams across the organization to refine your communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

Within this 12-week internship you will get exposure to many different roles and responsibilities of a business analyst including:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, create process flow documents and help identify enhancements to core business platforms.
• Develop problem solving skills and work with SaaS solution vendors to drive business success through the use of technology.
• Collaborate with project managers, QA, IT and business units to create test cases and user documentation.
• Engage with teams across the organization to analyze business processes and provide efficiency suggestions through process optimization and/or new vendor selections.
• Act as a liaison between the business, IT and technology vendors to translate desired business outcomes into system requirements.
• Learn about the insurance industry including policy and claim management, accounting, reporting and essential business operations.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Visio
• Experience with creating business process flow documents and test plans is preferred

Salary Description

$20/hour
