A-Line Staffing is now hiring Assembler 3, Instrument in Sparks, MD.
The Assembler 3, Instrument would be working for a Fortune 500 company and has career growth potential. This would be full-time / 40+ hours per week.

Assembler 3, Instrument Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $21.18 per hour
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Assembler 3, Instrument Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • The required availability for this position is 7am - 3:30pm

Assembler 3, Instrument Responsibilities

  • Build, integrate, and understand the entire assembly process and requirements for any instrument in the production area
  • Assemble multiple product lines, including integration of sub-assemblies into the instrument
  • Record and report device history (serial numbers, tools)
  • Provide basic component testing (pre-assemblies, modules of simple instruments)
  • Identify defects and recommend design and process improvements
  • Read and understand drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
  • Provide training to associates as needed
  • Execute basic test instructions, including analyzing results and determining pass/fail or next steps
  • Conduct routine/moderately complex troubleshooting and repair work
  • Complete related production activities in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and BD’s expectations for safety and quality
  • Work or interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing as needed
  • Perform standard material handling functions for instrument raw materials and sub-assemblies
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment through housekeeping responsibilities
  • Follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Follow all BD housekeeping and safety policies and procedures
  • Work overtime as required to meet business needs
  • Perform other duties as required

Assembler 3, Instrument Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of manufacturing experience, or an AA technical degree with 1 year experience
  • Experience in a regulated environment
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor, coach, and develop associates
  • Proven accountability to results and ability to improve performance and processes
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, bits, etc.)
  • Proficiency in reading drawings, interpreting and measuring dimensions, and understanding requirements
  • Ability to manage time across multiple production orders and processes
  • Strong teamwork skills to reach common goals
  • Understanding of and adherence to Quality procedures
  • Support Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) philosophies through active participation in initiatives (e.g., Blitzes, Kaizen Action Sheets, safety)
  • Proven ability to complete tasks in support of achieving goals and improved performance
  • Ability to manage frequent assignment changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow diagrams, and perform basic arithmetic
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with a Windows environment
  • Independent judgment in planning, performing, making decisions, troubleshooting, and problem solving in setup, operations, and processes
  • Ability to work in a repetitive environment and stand for long periods
