Essential Functions and Duties: - Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and entities, ensuring compliance and accuracy while advising on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities
- Research complex tax issues, provide expert advice, and assist with IRS audits and other tax-related matters
- Stay current on tax laws and regulations, applying knowledge to client work and mentoring junior staff to ensure high-quality service
- Manage multiple client accounts and deadlines, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all interactions
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA license preferred or experience in income tax preparation and planning
- Minimum of one year of experience in tax preparation, with a strong emphasis on complex returns (corporate, individual, trust, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax codes, including experience with tax preparation software - Lacerte
- Proven ability to conduct thorough research and resolve complex tax issues
- Prior experience in a public accounting firm or tax-focused role is a plus
- Ability to pass a background screening
